Customized Itineraries
Remember, our specialty at Geo Tourism is to create customized programs. If your client has any individual requests, please contact us and one of our travel specialists will design an itinerary and quote for you. The quote given to you will be our NET price/offer.
Q: What is the difference between Fully Escorted and Independent Programs?
A: Fully escorted or guided group tours are programs which travel in a group on coach or minibus with driver and guide. Guests are traveling with the same group and guide to each location. Examples of our fully escorted or guided tours are our Best of Turkey Tour (GEO17) and Glories of Turkey and Greece (GEO07). Independent programs are those where all transfers, transportation (flight, train or coach) and accommodation is arranged for the clients and the daily tours are conducted locally in a group with a guide but the group may change at each location. Our Istanbul & Cappadocia (GEO02) and Historic Triangle (GEO12) programs are examples of Independent with Local Tour programs.
Q: Do you provide international airfares ?
A: We do not arrange international airfares. The international flights need to be booked from the country of origin.
Q: My client is ready to book, how do I pay for the program/services ?
A: When your client is ready to book you will notify your representative. He/she will e mail to you the reservation and payment details. The payment will be our NET price to you, we do not pay commissions. We accept payments by credit card MASTERCARD and VISA only, you will need to fill out and sign our mail order form. If you do not want to pay by credit card, our Head Office bank details are located on our invoice and you can deposit the Money by bank transfer.
Q: How much deposit is required ? When do I pay the balance ?
A: We require a 30% balance payment to secure the reservations. The remaining balance of 70% is due 45 day prior to the departure date of the program.
Q: After my reservations have been made what type of confirmation or documents will I receive ?
A: You will received a Confirmed Travel Program from your representative which includes the itinerary with hotel details and our office / guide contact information along with the hotel vouchers. You may also receive e tickets for any domestic flights. Any other documents that your client may need such as ferry/bus tickets will be given to the client upon their arrival or will be waiting at their hotel reception and this will be explained to you.
Q: What is the cancellation policy for land and cruise programs ?
A: If a written and signed cancellation notification is received before departure we can accept the cancellation and the following charges apply:
CANCELLATION CHARGES FOR LAND PACKAGES: Prior to departure: Charge
60 days or more: 10% of selling price (Administrative Fee )
59-46 days: 30% of selling price
45-8 days: 50% of selling price
7-0 days: 100% of selling price
CANCELLATION CHARGES FOR CRUISE PACKAGES:
Prior to departure: Charge
45 days or more: 10% of selling price (Administrative Fee)
45-31 days: 30% of selling price
30-15 days: 50% of selling price
14-8 days: 75% of selling price.
7-0 days: 100% of selling price.
We recommend clients purchase travel insurance to cover the event of cancellation due to health or safety issues.

TURKEY
1. Information Package
Before your client’s departure you will receive a Confirmed Travel Program from your representative who will have the hotel information and the contact details of our office in Istanbul, Turkey.

Upon their arrival in Turkey your clients will receive an official itinerary which will inform the clients of any other information they will need for their journey such as pick up/transfer times. The package will also contain any air of ferry ticket and/or vouchers that they may need.

2. Transfers
Your clients will be met at the airport or port by one of our representatives. They will be a holding a sign with the client’s name.
For pick up from the client’s hotel. Clients will be informed at what time and should be waiting in the lobby of their hotel for the transfer. They should be ready and waiting before the pick-up time with check-out completed.

Clients will be informed of their transfer times on their official itinerary OR they will be contacted at their hotel by one of our representatives. If we are unable to contact the client, a message/fax will be left at reception. Clients should check their hotel reception for any messages.

3. Accommodation
Not always does the star standard of the hotel reflect the quality and service given. In Turkey there is 2 star (budget class), 3 star (tourist class), 4/5 star (international class) and deluxe accommodation based on Western standards. They may not be of equal to standards compared to the Western world. For example rooms and bathrooms may be smaller and air conditioning may not work at all times. Your travel representative recommendations on the quality of the hotel will help you choose the right property.

At Geo Tourism we are constantly researching, visiting, gaining knowledge and feedback about the hotels in each location. Our travel consultants use a handful of hotels which are selected based on their good reputation, price and location.

4. Daily Excursions
SIC Daily Excursions are conducted in a tour group by coach or minibus with driver and guide.
The tour program on SIC excursions cannot be modified.
Pick up and drop off at the guest’s hotel is included in the price. Pick up and drop off in Istanbul is only from Taksim and Sultanahmet central areas.
Private tours can be arranged, please contact us for a quote.

5. Package Tours
The tours that are featured on our website can depart with a minimum of 2 people.
Packages are either Guided Tours or Independent Programs. Guided Tours are normally conducted by a professional, certified guide who takes care of all services from beginning to end of the tour (this may or may not include Istanbul). The tours normally include flights, hotels, transportation, transfers to the airport/hotel, most meals and sightseeing. Guided tours are typically conducted by coach. They can be fast-paced, with no more than 2 nights spent in each location. Independent programs are where we arrange all services for you while in Turkey (unless otherwise stated), including all transfers, transportation and accommodation. Transportation are by public means (flights/coaches) and transfers are be made by minibus or car. Our drivers will meet and transfer you to the hotel, port or airport at each location you visit. You will join the local daily group tours at each destination. You canalso opt to have exclusive private tours for your guests.

Our custom designed itineraries are independent programs.

6. Gulet Cruises
Cruise vessels do not have air-conditioning in the cabins.
Cruises should not be offered as deluxe cruise. The cruises are very nice however they are more 3 star standard.
Embarkation is at 3pm and disembarkation is at 10 am. Clients arriving in the morning and have a transfer to the gulet will not be able to check-in earlier.
Gulet includes full board, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Drinks are extra and not included in the package price.
Extra costs are any optional excursions, drinks, tips to boat crew, port taxes & VISA if sailing to Greece.

7. Cruises
Price lists available correspond with the nationality of the guest.
Cruise includes all meals and entertainment while on board.
Cruise price does not include shore excursion, these are at an extra cost.
For clients wanting to embark or disemark in Istanbul there is an extra fee of 30 USD per person per embarkation or disembarkation.
We run private VIP shore excursions in Istanbul and Kusadasi (Ephesus). Your clients may be interested in a private tour at these locations. Please contact us for the list of excursions at ports.
Cruises should not be offered as first class/deluxe holidays. These cruises are more 3/4 star.
The cruise company reserves the right to change the itinerary at any time.
The cruise company also reserve the right to change the ship at any time during the season. These changes are made with little to no notice and you should include this information when communicating with your client.
The 7 day cruise from Istanbul can depart Saturday to Saturday, Sunday to Sunday or Sunday to Saturday. It cannot depart Saturday to Sunday.

8. Special Requests
Any clients that have special requests such as vegetarians or people who require non smoking rooms should me mentioned upon booking so that persons necessary can be notified.

9. Assistance
Whenever the need for assistance arises, clients should not hesitate to contact our office in Istanbul on Tel: (+90) 212 232 3290 or for after hour emergencies Tel: (+90) 5336493711. For the best service problems should be dealt with immediately.

10. Tipping
Your clients may be interested in the following information regarding tipping in Turkey.
All tipping is optional, but the giving of tips is customary in Turkey for many services.  A small amount (2-5 Turkish Lira) to waiters, drivers and hotel staff can be given.
It is customary to express a personal “thank you” to your Guide, especially if he or she has provided individual assistance. As a guideline, many travelers give $5-$7 per person, per day.
Tours & Excursions: During your vacation, you have the opportunity to participate in included and optional tours. Tips to your coach driver, and to the local tour guide if one accompanies the tour, are customary. The following are suggested amounts for each:

Coach driver
$3 per person for each half-day tour
$4 per person for each full-day tour
Local guide
$3 per person for each half-day tour
$4 per person for each full-day tour

Hotel Housekeepers
At hotels, housekeepers will appreciate a tip equivalent to $1 per person, per day.

Tips may be given in Turkish Lira OR USD.
